According to the US political news website politico on November 21, twitter confirmed on Friday that the official twitter account @ pot of the U.S. president will be automatically transferred to “President elect” Biden when the president is sworn in in in January next year, regardless of whether trump admits defeat or not.
Twitter said the handover does not require information sharing between the trump team and the Biden team. Twitter will archive all existing tweets on the @ pot account, reset the account to zero tweets and transfer it to the Biden administration on Inauguration Day.
Twitter said company representatives will meet with members of Biden and Harris’ transition team in the coming months to discuss specific details about how the new government uses twitter.
