On November 12, the trump administration suddenly announced an administrative order prohibiting US investors from investing in enterprises owned or controlled by the Chinese military. The order will take effect on January 11, next year.
It is understood that the decree prevents U.S. investors from trading in the securities of enterprises owned or controlled by the Chinese military. At the same time, it also prohibits Americans from buying and selling the securities of these enterprises within 60 days of being identified as “Chinese military enterprises”. It will affect 31 Chinese enterprises such as China Telecom, China Mobile and Hikvision.
